Sideline Survival Kit

Today was Buddy’s first Rugby match of the new season. I’ve my sideline survival kit well prepared.

Rugby Balls and Water Bottles

Hot Coffee

Anyone who knows me will know I need my coffee to keep me going.

There’s no way I’m standing on the sidelines without a hot coffee.

I bring my own as the stuff served at most rugby clubs is instant bought in bulk.

This week it was Ringbolt Coffee.

Snacks

Some of these matches are an hour or more away.

When you add warm up and match time in.

That’s a long time since breakfast.

I’m trying to be a bit more healthy so chocolate bars and crisps have been given the boot.

Instead it’s Irish Biltong for me.

High in protein, low in fat, no nasty additives and great tasting.

What’s not to love?

Wooly Hat

Those sidelines can get a bit cold and windswept.

I made the mistake of leaving headgear behind for some matches.

Big mistake.

That lovely sunny winters morning can swiftly change to a wet and windy afternoon.

Travel Mug

The one pictured was given to me by my mother last year in the States.

It’s awesome.

Made by Built it keeps hot drinks hot and during the summer cold drinks cold.

When I say hot I mean hot. This mornings match was only 30 mins away.

I burnt my lip when I arrived and took my first sip. I’d forgotten just how hot it keeps the drink.

All that’s left is to enjoy the match.

So that’s my sideline survival kit. What is in yours?
